Brief:
The community code for has been updated, which mismatched with the existing sonic-mgmt-framework. Hence it broke the build.
Submodule-PR: #43
Details:
The SONiC mgmt Framework, pulls down the community modules in two steps.
Pull the existing; This does a transparent compile too.
Then checkout the specific commit-id for each and do the final compile.
The community code change broke in the compilation phase of step-1.
Fix: For the two affected modules, do download only.
Proper fix:
As part of the next phase of changes, the mgmt-framework is moving go-submodule mode, which will ensure the download happens for the assigned commit-ids only.

If sonic-cfggen is passed the -m argument (to load the minigraph file) along with one or more -j <json_file> arguments, load the JSON files before loading the minigraph file.
This ensures that the init_cfg.json file is loaded before the minigraph, therefore the minigraph can override any default configuration options specified in init_cfg.json. Currently, the behavior is reversed.
Note: This is not an issue if loading loading multiple JSON files, because sonic-cfggen loads them in the left-to-right order they were specified on the command line, therefore providing flexibility for loading JSON files in a specific order. As long as init_cfg.json is specified before config_db.json, the values specified in config_db.json will take precedence.
This patch upgrade the kernel from version

Changed logic for building frr. Previously we used latest commit in the FRR_BRANCH. Now the buildsystem will use a tag to identify a commit for building. New approach will let us to update sonic-frr without corrupting building sonic-buildimage.

DHCP relay MONitor (dhcpmon) keeps track of DORA messages. If DHCP Relay
is detected to be not forwarding DORA message, dhcpmon will log such event
to syslog. Under the hood dhcpmon keeps counts of clients DR messages,
forwarded DR messages, DHCP server OA messages, and forwarded OA messages.
dhcpmon will check every 12 sec (configurable) if counts are monotonically
increasing and record snapshot of those counters. dhcpmon will report
discrepancies when detected between current counters and snapshot counters.

Prior to this change, `build_debian.sh` would generate a Debian
filesystem in `./fsroot`. This needs root permissions, and one of the
tests that is performed is whether the user can create a character
special file in the filesystem (using mknod).
On most NFS deployments, `root` is the least privileged user, and cannot
run mknod. Also, attempting to run commands like rm or mv as root would
fail due to permission errors, since the root user gets mapped to an
unprivileged user like `nobody`.
This commit changes the location of the Debian filesystem to `/fsroot`,
which is a tmpfs mount within the slave Docker. The default squashfs,
docker tarball and zip files are also created within /tmp, before being
copied back to /sonic as the regular user.
The side effect of this change is that the contents of `/fsroot` are no
longer available once the slave container exits, however they are
available within the squashfs image.

Updated the l2 preset config generator to specify 'admin_status': 'up' for every port by default.
The use of setdefault() ensures that if port already has some admin_status set, the original value will not be overwritten.

Patch isc-dhcp-relay in order to allow the relay agent to discover configured interfaces even if they are down.
Without this patch, the relay agent will not discover configured interfaces if they are down when the relay agent starts up. If the interface(s) then get brought up after the relay started, the relay will discard packets received on these interfaces and log the message, Discarding packet received on <iface_name> interface that has no IPv4 address assigned. This led to race conditions when starting SONiC (or loading configuration). To resolve this, the relay agent would need to be restarted with all configured interfaces up.
With this patch, the relay agent will discover all configured interfaces, whether or not they are up at the time the relay agent starts. Thus, the state of the configured interfaces can be down when the relay agent starts and brought up during the lifetime of the relay agent process, and the relay agent will relay packets as expected; it will not discard them.
Put a flag for fast-reboot to the db using EXPIRE feature. Using this flag in other part of SONiC to start in Fast-reboot mode. If we reload a config, the state in the db will be removed.

When LLDP parameter tx-interval value is modified, there was no immediate PDU sent to peer to update the peer with the latest values. Due to this the update on peer happened only after the next PDU is sent which can cause a delay of upto 30 secs (default value).
* In the event of a kernel crash, we need to gather as much information
as possible to understand and identify the root cause of the crash.
Currently, the kernel does not provide much information, which make
kernel crash investigation difficult and time consuming.
Fortunately, there is a way in the kernel to provide more information
in the case of a kernel crash. kdump is a feature of the Linux kernel
that creates crash dumps in the event of a kernel crash. This PR
will add kermel kdump support.
An extension to the CLI utilities config and show is provided to
configure and manage kdump:
- enable / disable kdump functionality
- configure kdump (how many kernel crash logs can be saved, memory
allocated for capture kernel)
- view kernel crash logs
Fixed Makefile of FRR. Before we had issues after #3589:
- When you want to rebuild frr with new changes you get error "branch frr/7.1 is already exist".
- When your patch list is empty stg undo gives an error

If we have a case where have created a fd for i/o and we have removed the
handling thread but still have the fd in the poll data structure, there
existed a case where we would get the handle this fd return from poll but we
would immediately do nothing with it because we didn't have a thread to hand
the event to.
This leads to an infinite loop. Prevent the infinite loop
from happening and log the problem.

From 5.1 version of PyYAML python module, yaml.load() API is deprecated. Code should be compatible to support both the versions, else error/warning messages are seen like below,

In teamd v1.28, the port can only be enabled if sync bit is set
in recveived LACPDU from partner by the following commit
"teamd: lacp: update port state according to partner's sync bit"
(54f137c105)
However, lacp fallback feature needs to enable port even if partner
LACPDU is not received within a given period and fallback cfg is enabled.
To fix the lacp fallback breakage, we have to bypass the sync bit
check in lacp fallback mode.

This commit adds SNMP support for Management VRF using l3mdev.
The patch included provides VRF support, there is no single
"listendevice" configuration, rather multiple agentaddress
config options can each have their own "interface" to bind to
using "ip%interface". The snmpd.conf file is accordingly
generated using the snmp.yml file and redis database info.

This commit adds NTP support for management VRF using L3mdev. Config vrf add
mgmt will enable management VRF, enslave the eth0 device to the master device
mgmt, stop ntp service in default, restart interfaces-configs and restart ntp
service in mgmt-vrf context. Requirement and design are covered in mgmt vrf
design document.

Introduce a new "sflow" container (if ENABLE_SFLOW is set). The new docker will include:
hsflowd : host-sflow based daemon is the sFlow agent
psample : Built from libpsample repository. Useful in debugging sampled packets/groups.
sflowtool : Locally dump sflow samples (e.g. with a in-unit collector)
In case of SONiC-VS, enable psample & act_sample kernel modules.
VS' syncd needs iproute2=4.20.0-2~bpo9+1 & libcap2-bin=1:2.25-1 to support tc-sample
tc-syncd is provided as a convenience tool for debugging (e.g. tc-syncd filter show ...)
Upon snmpd closes a netsnmp_agent_session due to snmp_timeout
there is a possibility of crash due to stale memory access.

* Enable debug image build for kvm image.
* Fix a bug in cleaning up requests referring the netsmp_session being closed to avoid a crash, during netsnmp_session close/abort due to timeout.
RCA:
The netsnmp_agent_session requests use netsmp_subtree objects that matches the associated variable name.
The netsnmp_subtrees created through a netsnmp_session are tied to that session.
When a subagent connection is closed/dropped due to timeout, all associated netsnmp_subtree objects are fred.
Hence during a netsnmp_session close, all the delegated netsnmp_agent_sessions are scanned for requets that could be using netsnmp_subtree objects associated with this netsnmp_sesssion or its subsession. For each of the found request, they are explicitly marked to fail and a call is made to complete them.
But due to the bug in scanning, it leaves behind requests and hence later when the requests get processed, they refer the *now* freed netsnmp_subtree. As often these requests gets completed pretty soon, they escape crashing. But if it so happens that the freed memory happened to complete a memory unit, hence returned to kernel or it got reallocated & changed enough to crash, the snmpd crashes.

The race condition could happen like this:
When an interface is enslaved into the port channel immediately after
it is created, the order of creating the ifinfo and linking the ifinfo to
the port is not guaranteed.

This commit adds support for New feature management VRF using L3mdev. Added
commands to enable/disable management VRF. Config vrf add mgmt will enable
management VRF, enslave the eth0 device to the master device mgmt and restart
interfaces-configs in mgmt-vrf context.
management interface (eth0) can be configured using config interface eth0 ip
add command and removed using config interface eth0 ip remove command.
Requirement and design are covered in mgmt vrf design document. Currently show
command displays linux command output; will update show command display in next
PR after concluding what would be the output for the show commands. Added
metric for default routes in dhcp and static, any changes for metric will be
addressed subsequently after discussing.

This is a follow-up of sonic-snmpagent PR 92
Now that licensing issues have been solved FRR is distributed with SNMP
support compiled-in. This PR adds the last bits of configuration to get
the frr-snmp debian packages added to the docker container and the
config bits to enable the snmp module in FRR
This PR brings the functionality of being able to poll bgpd for routes
and peer status.

* Switch the nss look up order as "compat" followed by "tacplus".
This helps use the legacy passwd file for user info and go to tacacs only if not found.
This means, we never contact tacacs for local users like "admin".
This isolates local users from any issues with tacacs servers.
W/o this fix, the sudo commands by local users could take <count of servers> * <tacacs timeout> seconds, if the tacacs servers are unreachable.
* Skip tacacs server access for local non-tacacs users.
Revert the order of 'compat tacplus' to original 'tacplus compat' as tacplus
access is required for all tacacs users, who also get created locally.

According to 6.4.15 of IEEE 802.1AX-2014, Figure 6-22, the state that the
port is selected moves MUX state from DETACHED to ATTACHED.
But ATTACHED state does not mean that the port can send and receive user
frames. COLLECTING_DISTRIBUTION state is the state that the port can send
and receive user frames. To move MUX state from ATTACHED to
COLLECTING_DISTRIBUTION, the partner state should be sync as well as the
port selected.
In function lacp_port_actor_update(), only INFO_STATE_SYNCHRONIZATION
should be set to the actor.state when the port is selected.
INFO_STATE_COLLECTING and INFO_STATE_DISTRIBUTING should be set to false
with ATTACHED mode and set to true when INFO_STATE_SYNCHRONIZATION of
partner.state is set.
In function lacp_port_should_be_{enabled, disabled}(), we also need to
check the INFO_STATE_SYNCHRONIZATION bit of partner.state.

There are some platforms with less powerful CPU/hard-drive could take
longer to get ready for BGP. For these platforms, 240 seconds would be
a safer threshold.

When adding a lag member dynamically after system boots up, teamd
port priv change handler could re-entrant itself and causing adding
operation to fail.
While handling PORT_CHANGE event, teamd_per_port.c port priv change
handler was called, it will then call runner_lacp to add port to lag,
the later causes IFINFO_CHANGE to be notified and calls the priv change
handler again, this re-entrance would cause runner_lacp port_added to
be called again and messes up with the previous adding sequence. Then
fails the lag member adding operation.
Prevent per port priv change handler re-entrance solves the problem.

Race condition has been noticed after warm reboot: sometimes when
port_changed notification was received, the link message didn't
have the device name. Without device name, creating team port
would fail.
Registering to the interface information change notification, so
later when device name becomes available, retry creating team port.

- Why it is required
since SONiC master switches ifupdown package to the new implementation (ifupdown2), it is required to change the configuration of a platform-specific interface for wedge100bf_32x and wedge100bf_65x platforms (bc of ifupdown2 doesn't support auto mode for inet6 protocol).
Also, need to make some refactoring and remove if platform == smth then.. from the system level scripts.
- What I did
removed customization of /usr/bin/interfaces-config.sh
explicitly created directory /etc/network/interfaces.d
added "source" to the /etc/network/interfaces generation template (to include platform-specific interfaces processing)
added platform-specific interfaces config itself (for wedge100bf_32x and wedge100bf_65x)
fixed testcase in sonic-config-engine

build image for wedge100bf_32x
perform sudo config reload -y on new installation
check the correct configuration of usb0 interface

Allow configuration of platform-specific interfaces
Lossy traffic does not need to be mapped to different ingress PGs. They can all share the same ingress PG.

The race condition could happen like this:
When an interface is enslaved into the port channel immediately after
it is created, the order of creating the ifinfo and linking the ifinfo to
the port is not guaranteed.

When using actor port number 0 in lag configuration, IO cannot be sent to
peer. Increase actor port number by 1 to keep uniqueness and at the same
time, avoid using actor port number 0.

- What I did
Fixed vanilla teamd bug, which prevented teamd to have a correct view of kernel state. Check bug #2 from the message
Changed schema for LACP port id.
Changed severity of an error message.
Removed logic to disable warm_start_read mode, when teamd started. It didn't work in system restart mode, because interfaces were added one by one, and it's impossible to say when everything is added.
- How I did it
I've added team_refresh() on every port addition
I extract port id from the port name. Currently I support only "EthernetX" scheme. We need to add more schemes if we change port scheme.

- How to verify it
Build the image, install on your DUT, reboot it once, then reboot it on WR mode checking LACP state on remote side. The state shouldn't flip.

Remove the teamd.j2 templates used for starting the teamd. Add
teammgrd instead to manage all port channel related configuration
changes. Remove front panel port related configurations in
interfaces.j2 templates as well.
Remove teamd.sh script and use teammgrd to start all the teamd
processes. Remove all the logics in the start.sh script as well.
Update the sonic-swss submodule.

The behavior could be that we are sending LLDP message but not using
lldpcli configured properties if netlink delete messages were lost.
It also could be that some interfaces do not sending messages at all.
"lldpcli show statistics" could see duplicated or missing interfaces.
Changes:
Upgrade lldpd to 0.9.6 (which introduced the adjustable netlink buffer size)
Change the netlink receive buffer size to 1MB
* Moving get_routing_stack() to a centralized location to avoid code duplication
Various areas of sonic-utilities are now demanding this functionality so i'm simply moving this routing to a centralized location. After spending some time debating about the ideal location for this function, we thought about sonic-config-engine/sonic_platform.py as the closest match.
Functional tests' output will be provided as part of the equivalent PR to be submitted shortly within sonic-utilities repo.

Memory leak is observed during the execution of scripts that make use of bash-arrays. In scenarios where the offending script is executed on a regular basis (e.g. fancontrol), the leaking process may end up consuming most of the system resources.

Add SONiC to support Nephos platform
Update Head of submodule src/sonic-sairedis to "3b817bb"
- How to verify it
To build SONiC installer image and docker images, run the following commands:
make configure PLATFORM=nephos
make target/sonic-nephos.bin
Check system and network feature is worked as well
- Description for the changelog
Add switch ASIC vendor and platforms for Nephos
- A picture of a cute animal (not mandatory but encouraged)
